Bondi Rescue star’s baby news

Bondi Rescue hero Dean “Deano” Gladstone is set to become a father and workmates advise him it will be a life changing event.

Gladstone and his wife Lilli are expecting their first child and have only told close friends and family their news in the last four months.

“There has been a sad miscarriage of twins in the family. We just wanted to lay low for a while in case we needed our privacy,” Gladstone says.

The couple, married for three and a half years, have no plans to learn the baby’s sex.

“I’d like to but Lil isn’t keen so I’m happy to have a surprise,” Gladstone says.

Bondi Rescue workmates are happy for the lifeguard of 10 years and his wife.

“All the boys are really excited. There are a few new dads and we have all grown up together and now maybe our kids will too,” Gladstone says.

He is already receiving advice from some of the Bondi Rescue crew about fatherhood.

Terry McDermott and Bruce ‘Hoppo’ Hopkins both have older children and told Deano, “You don’t know what busy is until you have kids.”

“Kerbox (Rod Kerr) laughs at me too because I won’t have as much time to train in the gym when the baby comes.”

Gladstone has been a lifeguard on the popular Channel 10 series since 2006.
He and the team will be back on TV with the return of the show in 2011.
