Mention the word ‘Bondi’ and it conjures up a lot of things: sun, surf, sand and gelato, to name a few. But our favourite Bondi word association is ‘markets’. The fashionistas’ markets of choice, the Bondi Markets feature clothes and accessories of all kinds every Sunday, a stone’s throw from Australia’s most famous beach. Fashion luminaries like Akira Isogawa and Leona Edmiston are declared fans, with Ms Edmiston commenting: “You’ll find a mix of new and old and if you’re lucky you could discover the next big thing – a few of our brightest designers started there.” (PH)
