BEST COCKTAIL BAR – The Barrie

You might easily walk past the entrance to this covert gem – it looks like a graffitied drive-way where someone has left the large iron swinging gate open. But walk in and it’s another world – dimly lit interior, kind of stylish but unpretentious, lots of tables and chairs, and modern rustic design. The venue has had previous identities and only became The Barrie about three years ago – bad timing! But it weathered the storm and now has a regular nightly crowd, there to listen to live music from local talent, enjoy the tantalising drink and food menu, and make Chippendale cool again. The cocktail list has a great selection of bespoke inventions that definitely need to be tried over multiple visits.
