Next in the latest trend of small bars behind restaurants, Chris Cranswick-Smith has opened up the space at the back of Emmilou with a new thirty person lounge. Graffiti artist Lee Harnden was commissioned to paint Lou Lou and 22 year old Alex Carter has crafted The Revolution (contemporary) and The Inquisition (classic) cocktail lists. From the Bar Lou Lou beverages, the picks are vodka Hashtag ($16) and girly Loulita ($16), passionfruit Makers Mark bourbon The Avenue ($18), Rum OF ($20) with Pedro Ximenez and Bokers Bitters, and BAR FLY favourite Wolf Pack ($16): J&B Scotch, Orgeat, lemon juice, Cynar, ginger beer. In true Spanish style this is also a good spot for sherry. We are swooning over the space, with cosy benches and more stools around the extended Emmilou bar – oh and the new bar menu’s hamburgeusa ($8).
