Author talks at local libraries

In June Author Talks will feature not one but two local authors talking about their lives and books and how the two intertwine.

Pauline Robinson lives in Chiswick and will be talking at Leichhardt Library on June 2 and Balmain Library on June 22.

Pauline was torn in two when she could not help her husband or father as they each faced life threatening illness. She could not leave her husband home alone because of his mental illness, so could not travel to care for her dying father. In despair Pauline searched for answers and learned a lesson that turned her pain into joy and enabled her spirit to embrace love, compassion and her sense of self once again. “Triumph of Joy” is the story of Pauline’s journey.

Antony Jeffrey lives in Lilyfield and will talk at Balmain Library on June 8.

After the success of his April library event, Antony Jeffrey is back by popular demand for a second talk in June. Antony has recorded over 200 interviews with artists such as Bruce Beresford, David Malouf and Googie Withers. Many Faces of Inspiration explores the innermost thoughts, passions, struggles and dreams that drive the creativity of these remarkable people.

Antony has been an executive with the Australian Chamber Orchestra, Australia Council and the Australian Opera and has worked in senior roles in the Australian Ballet, Melbourne Theatre Company, Lyric Opera of Queensland and the Australian Brandenburg Orchestra. He was appointed a Member of the Order of Australia in 2008 for his services to the arts.

The Author Talks events are free but bookings are essential; call 9367 9266 (Leichhardt) or 9367 9211 (Balmain).
