Australian Musicians Call For Listeners To AUSIFY Their Music
Australian artists Thelma Plum and Keli Holiday have launched AUSIFY, a nationwide initiative to bring together musicians, fans, and industry figures to boost Australian music visibility on streaming and social media platforms.
AUSIFY is a mission to support and highlight Australian music across the country by increasing its visibility on streaming platforms’ algorithms. The campaign motivates listeners to search, listen, and defy by streaming, liking, and sharing local artists to highlight Australian music on streaming and social media platforms. By doing so, individuals can help showcase Australian music on streaming and social media platforms, AUSIFYing their feeds in the process.
Less than 10 per cent of music streamed in Australia comes from local artists, and the campaign aims to change that. Led by artists, for artists, AUSIFY pushes Australians to fill their feeds with local sounds that reflect their country’s identity.
“Everyone knows how good Australian music is, and the more you explore it the more it gives back,” said 15-time ARIA nominee, Thelma Plum.
“There are so many incredible stories and artists that reflect who we are. This campaign is about reminding people how easy it is for people to discover and champion that, by simply choosing to search for those stories and making sure local artists get the attention they deserve!”

AUSIFY suggests many ways to participate in the message. Listeners can create their own playlists with local music and share them across social media. They can also explore new artists, attend shows, and support home-grown artists’ content through media forums. Every day efforts bring much-needed attention to Australian talent.
Just in time for November’s Ausmusic Month
“We have the power to change our personal algorithm and support great Aussie music – no matter the platform,” said Keli Holiday, 2025 Rolling Stone Readers’ award winner. It’s not just about streaming your favourite artists – it’s repping them by going to shows, putting them in your playlists, merch, telling your mates, purchasing physical records, making requests to radio and word of MOUTH!
“This all helps Aussie artists get heard. Let’s get together to keep our Australian talent in the conversation and make local music impossible to be ignored because we as Australians have SO much beautiful art to share with the world – we just gotta get it heard, seen and felt.”
The AUSIFY movement has arrived just in time for the November Ausmusic Month. The campaign will feature daily playlists, artist endorsements, and pop-up performances scheduled throughout the month. The music acts range from A to Z of Australian local talent. A collective network of artists, managers, labels, promoters, venues, festivals, radio, and streaming partners, who assist with spreading the #AUSIFY initiative across the country.
To celebrate the movement, on 1 November, Keli Holiday will be working with Ash McGregor, Australian music advocate, to host Ausify The Aux, an interactive public pop-up at Bondi Beach Promenade. The event starts at 8:30 am, and guests are encouraged to play their favourite Australian music.
To get individuals involved, the official AUSIFY website features a playlist and a guide on how to participate in #AUSIFYYourAlgo, complete with a live recommendation generator to help those interested in discovering Australian artists and music daily.
