Addison Road Community Organisation (Addi Road) is celebrating its 50th birthday with a free fiesta on Saturday 17 October 2026.

Running from 10:30am to 2pm at 142 Addison Road, Marrickville, the event will include two stages of music and dance, traditional street food hailing from Ethiopia all the way to Mexico, community stalls, and, of course, a clown (the latter of which CityHub has been explicitly told will not be scary).

Addi Road Fiesta: The Highlights

Of course, the above list barely scratches the surface. According to the organisers, a good 50th birthday party must offer at least 50 things for guests to do. Accordingly, fiesta attendees can look forward to performances by African drummers, Palestinian dabke dancers, and a Colombian roaming entertainer; henna, facepainting, second-hand clothing, and homewares stalls; not to mention coffee, potato stick, and falafel carts.

Other highlights include a free disco dance class hosted by Sydney Vintage Dance, poetry readings in The Bower’s hut, and table tennis with Marrickville Legal Centre (because why not?).

The fiesta will also host a number of guest organisations, including the Australian Martial Arts Junior Xtreme team, Marrickville Heritage Society, Burdekin, Goodstart Ashfield, Petbarn, and Families for Palestine.

The fiesta will commence with an official welcome to country and smoking ceremony, and all are welcome to attend as they are. Addi Road recommends catching the 428 bus from Newtown Station, as it stops right outside the main gates. Sidestreet parking is limited.
