Man Charged After Allegedly Stalking 12-Year-Old Girls for Days in Sydney’s Eastern Suburbs
A man has been charged after allegedly stalking a group of four 12-year-old girls for days across Sydney’s Eastern suburbs.
On Monday officers from the Eastern Suburbs Police Area Command received a report of a man allegedly stalking a group of four 12-year-old girls in Bondi.
According to police, the man is accused of following the girls through a shopping centre in Bondi Junction at around 1 PM last Friday. The girls reportedly ran away from the man in fear for their safety.
Around 6pm the same day, police allege the girls encountered the man again, this time inside a vehicle in North Bondi.
He is accused of blocking their path at a pedestrian crossing and yelling at them before driving off.
On the following Monday afternoon, around 2:45 PM, the girls were swimming at Bondi Beach when they noticed the man watching them from the shore.
The situation escalated when the man allegedly swam toward them, prompting the girls to leave the water and seek safety.
62-year-old man arrested and charged with alleged stalking
Following the reports, police launched an investigation and arrested a 62-year-old man on Arnold Street on Thursday.
He was taken to Waverley Police Station and charged with four counts of stalking or intimidation with the intent to cause fear of physical harm.
The man was refused bail and appeared before Waverley Local Court on Thursday.
