‘Enchanté’: Alliance Française French Film Festival is coming to Sydney next week

The Alliance Française French Film Festival is coming to Sydney from March 7 until the April 5, showcasing as many as 44 French films.

With several categories such as “Up For A Laugh”, “Taste of France”, “Women With A Voice”, “Finding Your Way” and “L’Amour’s Promises”, the festival is dedicated to displaying a collection of some of the best movies made in France in 2022.

With genres ranging from action to comedy, drama to thriller or mystery, there really is something for everyone.

Celebrating French art

The Alliance Française French Film Festival (AFFFF) is an annual French film festival that takes place throughout Australia to promote the culture of French cinema. French Ambassador Jean-Pierre Thebault said that there were over 153,000 spectators to last year’s festival, marking it as a popular event for moviegoers.

Films will be displayed in a variety of locations spreading across Sydney, from Palace Norton Street to Chauvel Cinema, Palace Verona to Palace Central Sydney and the Hayden Orpheum, Cremorne.

The opening night of AF FFF23 is on the March, where film “Masquerade” by Nicolas Bedos will be displayed after the reception.

“Masquerade” or Mascarade in the original French, is a movie about Adrien, a former dancer whose career was shattered by a motorcycle accident, who sees his life take a drastic turn when he meets Margot, a young woman who lives of scams and amorous manipulations.

In addition to Sydney, the French festival will also take place in Adelaide, Bendigo, Brisbane, Byron Bay, Canberra, Gold Coast, Hobart, Melbourne, and Perth.

Tickets range from from $19.50 up to $30, depending on the movie, the booked time slot, and the location in which the session will take place.
