A young man who died in a two car collision in the Inner West last week has been identified as 20-year-old Karim Eldehaibi. The 20-year-old was involved in a two-car collision in Tempe at around 11.25pm on Friday January 6.

The two cars involved in the crash were travelling in opposition directions on the Princes Highway in Tempe when the accident occurred. Police arrived at the scene of the crash before calling ambulance services, who pronounced Eldehaibi dead at the scene.

The 54-year old man driving a Toyata Yaris which struck Eldehaibi’s car was hospitalised following the crash for injuries and mandatory testing. Police say he remains in a stable condition.

Heartfelt tributes from family and friends

Eldehaibi’s family and friends have taken to social media with heartfelt messages of grief. His local football club, the Dolls Point Football Club, said via Facebook that “our hearts are breaking” at the news of the tragic crash.

“Our deepest condolences go to his family, friends and team mates from everyone at Dolls Point Football Club” the post read.

A crime scene was established by NSW police at the site of the accident, and an investigation into the crash took place.
